Firmware changes

Built: 2026-10-27 18:36:52 GMT

Each device has its own firmware version, so the watch and the T-Embed are listed separately. The version is the date on the second line of the device’s start-up screen, shown for about two seconds when it starts. A letter after the date marks a second or later change to that device on the same day. The letters count separately for each device, so the watch can be on c while the T-Embed is still on b.

Devices flashed before 2026-10-09 show no version. Reflash them to start from the first versioned build. The Device Flasher help shows what the start-up screen looks like on each device and explains its reset line.

T-Watch S3

  • 2026-10-13 — The watch tells the T-Embed its battery level every few seconds, so the T-Embed can show it and warn when the watch goes quiet.
  • 2026-10-13 — The watch shows NO LINK without waiting for a gesture when it cannot reach the T-Embed. It stays on the screen, without a buzz, until the T-Embed answers again.
  • 2026-10-09d — The start-up screen also shows why the watch started, e.g. “reset: power on (1)” or “reset: watchdog (9)”, to help identify a watch that keeps restarting.
  • 2026-10-09c — The screen is now drawn separately from shake detection, so drawing can never delay a switch press. The screen looks and behaves as before.
  • 2026-10-09b — The green bar now follows the trigger level. When you change it from the T-Embed, a full bar means the movement would have triggered a shake.
  • 2026-10-09b — The green bar keeps the highest level reached and falls back over about a second, so a short punch is visible. In roll mode it shows the roll instead of the punch strength.
  • 2026-10-09b — “-- NO SAVE --” stays on the screen after a shake instead of disappearing. “- TASK FAIL -” is shown if the watch could not start one of its tasks.
  • 2026-10-09 — The firmware version is shown at start-up.
  • 2026-10-06 — The watch confirms that each shake reached the T-Embed and shows NO LINK when it did not.
  • 2026-10-06 — The radio settle delay is 10 ms instead of 100 ms, so a shake reaches the keyboard about 90 ms sooner.
  • 2026-09-08 — Fixed a boot loop caused by the audio driver. The watch has no audio.

T-Embed

  • 2026-10-20 — The first shake after the T-Embed is plugged in now sends its keystroke, about half a second late. Before, it could be lost. Every later shake sends its keystroke at once. See The first shake after plugging in the receiver.
  • 2026-10-19d — Test build: the first shake after plugging in sent no keystroke. Replaced by 2026-10-20.
  • 2026-10-19c — Test build: the first shake after plugging in sent its keystroke about a quarter of a second late. Replaced by 2026-10-20.
  • 2026-10-19b — Test build: the first keystroke after plugging in was sent too soon and lost. Do not use it.
  • 2026-10-19 — Test build: the first shake after plugging in sent its keystroke about half a second late. Replaced by 2026-10-20.
  • 2026-10-13b — The key sent on a shake can be chosen on the T-Embed configuration page: a, b, Enter or Space. It is still ‘a’ unless you change it.
  • 2026-10-13 — “*** shake detected ***” and “*** switch ***” clear after a second instead of staying on the screen until the next message.
  • 2026-10-13 — The T-Embed shows the watch’s battery level on a new bottom line. Below 20% it shows “watch LOW” and the ring flashes amber.
  • 2026-10-13 — If the watch goes quiet for 20 seconds, the T-Embed shows NO LINK, clicks three times and flashes its ring red. The clicks repeat every 5 minutes until the watch is back. They play even with Audio switched off.
  • 2026-10-09b — The start-up screen also shows why the T-Embed started, e.g. “reset: power on (1)” or “reset: USB (21)”, to help find unexpected restarts.
  • 2026-10-09 — The firmware version is shown at start-up.
  • 2026-10-08 — Flashes without holding the BOOT button again. The USB keyboard now starts on the first shake instead of at power-up.
